Karima quickly shot up in my personal player ranking when, after I posted my WNBA pet guide, she immediately reached out to let me know that her boys were missing. But those in the WNBA know have been fans of Christmas-Kelly for a long time. She's been a bit of journeywoman in her career, traveling from the Mystics, to the Shock/Wings, the Fever, and the Lynx, gracing each with her good hands on defense, rebounding, and consistent scoring. Her 2020 season ended in injury, but I can't wait to see her back.
In addition to being a dedicated pet parent, Karima is dedicated to her community. In 2020, she launched Christmas 4 the Kids, which gives financial assistance and other support to underprivileged kids and families in her community. She's also proudly the first and only Dominican (island of Dominica) WNBA player.
