      The Down Low

Emma is beloved among the fanbase. She's one of those understated players who just goes out on the court and shows out. For example, casual viewers (and seemingly Emma herself) may not have expected Emma to win Finals MVP in 2019, with regular season MVP Elena Delle Donne sharing the court. But Emma dropped 18 points / almost 5 rebounds per game off the bench in the finals series, more than earning her the title. She is currently the only second round pick and only bench player to win Finals MVP.

You may notice that Emma wears hearing aids—she was born with 50% hearing in each ear. I was incredible charmed by this article about how former Mystics teammate Stefanie Dolson ("who personifies volume") taught Emma how to be louder on the court when she first joined the team.

Now, there is no question that the EM-V-P is making herself heard with her play.

      Notable Quotables

Emma had an iconic response to the storming of the U.S. Capitol:

      Know Your Meme

During the WNBA finals, ESPN picked a completely random woman out of the crowd and declared that she was Emma's mom:

Emma now lovingly refers to her as her "ESPN mom."
