As Kayla describes, her "thing" has always been energy and defense: She's “scrappy, just all over the place.” It was this scrappiness that got her into the league. She wasn't drafted after she graduated in 2015, but fought her way into the league the hard way by showing her work ethic and energy during training camp. You'll consistently read her teammates praising her hard work and unwillingness to take a play off.
